Yin Yoga poses lengthen the connective tissues of the body and put a proper stress on the joints. A Yin practice targets the lower half of the body and is done mostly seated on a mat. Poses are held for three to five minutes. Yin is more about the sensations from the pose than the appearance of the pose. Using props is encouraged.
