Spring Summer 2026 Activity Guide

Older Adult Services Update Being able to age in place is a deeply meaningful goal for many older adults, allowing them to remain in their homes surrounded by familiar people, places, and routines. This requires a range of scalable and responsive resources and services to maintain a safe home environment, support health and wellness, and provide social connections. In 2026, several community-driven older adult programs have been consolidated under the City’s service umbrella. This includes programs previously provided by the Upper Arlington Commission on Aging, such as the UA Village and the “I Am Fine” automated telephone check-in service. Combining these services with the offerings of the UA CARES paramedicine program, as well as the many social, health and wellness opportunities available at the Bob Crane Community Center, allows us to maintain and enhance existing programming, explore new service opportunities, and simplify the user experience for older adults and their families. A key component to building a robust portfolio of older adult services, is strengthening the City’s Volunteer Program. Volunteer opportunities include: • Assisting with social activities. • Providing simple home support activities, such as light gardening, snow removal, changing batteries and light bulbs. • Simple transportation support, such as driving older adults to appointments, and running errands.
