UA CARES (Community Assistance, Referrals and Education Services) is a joint program of the City’s Fire and Police divisions. This paramedicine initiative supports community health by having paramedics educate residents, prevent injuries, and address healthcare needs. Services include home care for older adults and vulnerable residents, safety checks, fall risk assessments, CPR and Heartsaver/AED training, and access to the CARES Registry. UA CARES works to reduce emergencies and strengthen community connections through proactive care and education.
services to educate, empower, and enrich the lives of UA’s older residents. They include: Caregiver Support Group, monthly education events, File of Life, I AM Fine telephone check-in program, Resource Directory, and UA Village. Most of these services are free of charge. Please visit their website www.aginginua.org, Facebook page: www. facebook.com/uacoa, or Silver Threads newsletter (in print and on their website) for up-to-date info on upcoming programs or ongoing services.
