Older Adult DAYTIME PICKLEBALL OPEN PLAY FOR OLDER ADULTS: ALL LEVELS | 50+ YRS Volunteer Led This program offers play in an open play format, with some instruction and coaching provided for beginners. Play is self organized. Limited enrollment and pre-registration required. Courts provided. Limited availability of paddles and balls; bringing your own is recommended. No rain makeup dates; players are refunded for any cancelled days. Cancellations announced via Remind, otherwise a play time decision is made or play is at your own risk. Register for the whole session. If you can no longer attend a date, we recommend finding a sub. Registered players are provided a sub list to help find subs, should they have a need. To become a sub, register for the “Pickleball Open Play Sub List” (443997 A) at no cost. ADVANCED PICKLEBALL STRATEGIES | 18+ YRS Erika Oku and Pat Sambas Each session covers a new topic in advanced pickleball strategies. 9/9: Attacking with Purpose - Constructing Offense from the Kitchen Learn how to apply pressure from the non-volley zone with smart, purposeful aggression. This session covers recognizing attackable balls, how to execute speedups with control and how to prepare for and win fast hand battles at the net. Class format includes drills, live-point scenarios, and feedback from Erika and Pat. 443039 A 5:30-7 pm Tu 9/9 10/14: Pattern Recognition and Strategic Shot Selection Pro players win points by setting traps and recognizing repeatable patterns. In this session, Erika and Pat guide players through identifying opponent habits and building rallies with shot combinations that force errors. The class format includes situational drills and strategic mini games. 443039 B 5:30-7 pm Tu 10/14 11/18: Spin Mastery - Apply Top Spin, Underspin and Slice This hands-on session focuses on generating and countering all types of spin - topspin, slice and underspin. Erika and Pat walk you through when and how to apply spin effectively and how to neutralize spin-heavy shots. Class format includes drill stations, read-and-react exercises and spin focused gameplay. 443039 C 5:30-7 pm Tu 11/18 12/9: Match Strategy & Adaptation in Real Time Winning at the pro level means making adjustments mid match. In this capstone session, Erika and Pat coach players through creating and adjusting game plans based on real-time conditions and opponent behavior.
