MAH JONGG JUMP START! | 18+ YRS Carol Savage, Amy Sharpe Learn to Play American Mah Jongg in two classes! The first class teaches tiles, rules and layout of the game, as well as how to choose a hand. The second class furthers students’ understanding of strategy and an actual game is played. Please purchase the 2025 American Mah Jongg card from https:// www.nationalmahjonggleague.org/ All participants attend on Monday from 12:30-2:30 pm. On Wednesday, the class is split between the 12:30-2:30 and 6-8 pm timeslots. This curated open play is for novice players to practice. Each session begins with a five minute review of a specific skill often challenging for new players. The instructor is a seasoned player and available to answer questions and facilitate games. Players must understand the rules and have played at least two games prior to attending. This class is ideal for the experienced beginner as well as the player who needs a refresher or review of modern bridge. It is designed to give partnerships more bidding room both to find the best game contract and the ability to explore slam possibilities. This class includes Forcing NT, Bergen Raises, Jacoby 2NT, Splinter Bids, etc. Each class consists of a mini-lecture, discussion of a worksheet and playing prepared hands.
