Spring Summer 2026 Activity Guide
THE IMPORTANCE OF WHITE IN WATERCOLOR | 18+ YRS Vivian Ripley The white of watercolor paper functions in several very important ways. The shape of pure white can provide contrast and direct the eye to a center of interest. In addition, pure white paper enhances luminosity when layers of paint are glazed on the white surface. The elements of a successful composition come into play when white or light lines show the direction throughout the painting, involving the viewer in the process. Vivian provides information as she demonstrates. Attention with each participant follows with a constructive group critique. One-hour lunch break.
