AGING IN THE MOVIES | 50+ YRS Ray Montemayor, Ph.D. What can we learn about aging from films? How are older people portrayed on the silver screen? These are two of the questions we explore in this four-session movie and discussion experience. Each two-hour class session consists of watching a thought-provoking film with a theme about aging or with older main characters and then discussing the issues raised by the movie. So, if you are tired of action movies or comic book superheroes, this course is for you. 4/7 - Queen Bees (2021) A film about fitting in and finding love even as we age. 4/14 - A Timeless Love (2016) Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease. 4/21 - Make Way for Tomorrow (1937) A classic movie about taking care of older people. 4/28 - The Shootist (1976) A gunfighter looks for a way to die with dignity. 552615 A 10 am-Noon M 4/7-4/28 BCCC, Level 2, Program Room B $20 R-BCCC M | $24 NR O 4 sessions SHAKESPEARE: HENRY IV , PART ONE | 50+ YRS Brad Bradford Have you ever wanted to read a Shakespeare play but did not do so, because, for whatever reason, you thought it just was not for you? From the War of 1812 to the Civil War he was one of the best known soldiers in America. 7/11 - Ulysses S. Grant: Often underestimated, Grant eventually became the best known Union Army officer in the American Civil War. 8/8 - John J.
