The facility will offer an engaging space for players of all skill levels to enjoy pickleball. The new courts are part of a comprehensive upgrade to Northam Park, designed to cater to the active community of Upper Arlington. Six dedicated pickleball courts will be available for public use, providing ample space for players to engage in friendly matches. In addition to the pickleball courts, the project includes several amenities to enhance the visitor experience. The courts are conveniently located next to the new park service building, which will offer year-round restrooms. Open shelters have also been constructed near the courts to provide a shaded gathering area, perfect for socializing and taking breaks. The City will continue to offer courts lined for pickleball and tennis at Fancyburg and Thompson parks, giving players the flexibility to enjoy both sports at those locations. Plans are to add pickleball lines on the court at Sunny 95 Park when resurfaced this year. The new complex at Northam Park also features nine state-of-the-art clay tennis courts with advanced underground irrigation systems to ensure improved playability and reduced maintenance. The tennis plaza offers a shade structure and seating to watch matches and socialize alongside the Dick Kitch Memorial Tree Grove. Membership is required to use the tennis courts, and detailed information about memberships can be found in the Activity Guide on page 15.
