Day Trips Enjoy these opportunities for local exploration and fun! Registration available with Fall season registration. All transportation provided via the City’s comfortable 14-passenger shuttle bus. Register early to secure your spot! GRUB CLUB | 50+ YRS Recreation Staff Gather with new friends to enjoy a meal out on the town. You may register to ride in our 14-passenger bus or there are a limited number of spots for those who would like to drive on their own at the same price. Bring a payment method to purchase all meals and beverages. Attendees order at the restaurant; no pre-ordering required. End time varies depending upon meal service and traffic. Pre-register at least one week prior. Passenger bus riders meet at the BCCC Café & Lobby. Self-drivers receive the restaurant address in an emailed PDF receipt. Enjoyment and inspiration are assured for horticultural experts, casual gardeners, and nature lovers alike. Unwind, relax, and be restored in the beauty of this exquisite garden estate that once was the home of the innovative industrialist, Charles Kelley King. Next, head to lunch at a local restaurant. Finally, take a tour of the Ohio Bird Sanctuary. The Ohio Bird Sanctuary is a haven for native birds, a nature preserve, and a living museum. Their team is dedicated to caring for and rehabilitating Ohio native birds, protecting natural habitat, and creating opportunities for people to engage with nature. A DAY IN ZANESVILLE | 50+ YRS Recreation Staff

Spend the day in Zanesville, starting with a visit to the Alan Cottrill Sculpture Studio & Gallery. This is the world’s largest bronze sculpture exhibition of any living artist’s work. Watch Alan work in his studio, and view over 300 bronze sculptures, bronze bells, tomb sculptures and educational displays. Next, eat lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, embark on a timeless voyage aboard the Lorena Sternwheeler, Zanesville’s cherished riverboat. Enjoy a one-hour scenic cruise along the Muskingum River on this 104-foot vessel, echoing the journeys of yesteryear. End the day with a delicious treat from Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl. Stroll through streets filled with giant gourds, seasonal treats, and autumn magic. Festival vendors and restaurants available for your choice of lunch; please bring a payment method. THE MUSICAL 50+ YRS Recreation Staff La Comedia Dinner Theatre – “A Taste of Broadway,” is a combination of delicious dining and live stage productions. Price includes your meal, show ticket, and transportation. This rousing adaptation of the 1970 Oscar-nominated film “Scrooge” tells the timeless tale of the infamous miser’s supernatural encounters on Christmas Eve. A wonderful musical score by Oscar and Grammy Award-winning composer Leslie Bricusse (“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”) brings Charles Dickens’ classic novel “A Christmas Carol” to life like never before. Scrooge! The Musical - the classic story of redemption and forgiveness, capped off with our traditional singing of “O’ Holy Night” is the perfect way to celebrate the joy of Christmas.
