SHAKESPEARE: AS YOU LIKE IT | 50+ YRS Brad Bradford Have you ever wanted to read a Shakespeare play but did not do so, because, for whatever reason, you thought it just was not for you? Or, perhaps you read a Shakespeare play but did not get much out of it. We read the plays and assess the characters, plots and themes. Much of the focus examines the themes and asks three questions: What can you learn of value about yourself? Other people? Humanity and the world in general? Enjoy fun facts, history and hints along the way. Sometimes everyone reads the same book, while other times you explore different titles. Many artists are represented. How does the painting match the actual event? What is the goal of the painter and of the patron? How does the painting fit in the artist’s other work? Our focus is on living longer and on how aging transforms our minds, personalities and social relations. We explore ways to optimize personal growth and development to approach aging with confidence and even optimism. The course includes student-teacher interactions and class discussions.
