DISCOVERING THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF THEATRE | 7-12 YRS Contemporary Theatre of Ohio Participants explore different aspects of theatre, including storytelling/scriptwriting, improv, props and costumes, theatre movement/fight choreography, group skits, and more! This is a great opportunity to actually use a pottery wheel and learn how to transform a piece of clay into a wonderful bowl, vase or plate after drawing their own design. Participants learn basic wedging, centering, pulling, and decorating. Projects are finished with a glaze. Whether you are dreaming of writing a feature film, a short, or a TV pilot, this course introduces the fundamentals of screenwriting: from narrative structure and character development to dialogue and scene construction. Writing exercises, group discussion and script analysis provide you with a solid foundation and the inspiration to start your own screenplay. Taught by award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker, David Burkman, a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, whose films have been on Netflix, Hulu and at The Sundance Film Festival.
