NATURAL HEALING THROUGH REIKI | 50+ YRS Linda Haley, Director, The Reiki Center Currently offered in more than 800 U.S. hospitals, Reiki is a natural wellness technique using very light touch to a fully clothed body for stress reduction, relaxation and healing. It’s common to get relief from headaches or other physical aches in only a few minutes. The technique is easy to learn and can be used on yourself, others and even your pets! THE OHIO STATE WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER 50+ YRS LIVING WELL WITH CANCER: AN OVERVIEW OF SUPPORTIVE CARE SERVICES AT THE JAMES Julie DeBord, LISW-S, The James Cancer Supportive Care at the Bob Crane Community Center Cancer survivorship begins the day of diagnosis and continues throughout the balance of life. A cancer diagnosis often presents many new challenges and impacts all areas of life. Join an expert from The James Cancer Supportive Care for an informative session on the comprehensive, holistic support available to adult cancer survivors and their families. This program includes an overview of how these services aid in coping, health and wellbeing as individuals navigate the complexities of life with a cancer diagnosis. Next Steps is an informative and supportive class designed to provide an overview of what to expect after a cancer diagnosis. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or just starting treatment, Next Steps provides an opportunity to learn, ask questions and feel more empowered in your cancer experience. 551643 A 1-2 pm W 3/11 BCCC, Level 2, Program Room B Free, registration required GENERATION RX: SAFE MEDICATION PRACTICES FOR LIFE The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy and Cardinal Health Foundation Safe Medication Practices for Better Health is designed to offer helpful information about appropriate medication use for our older adults. Medications help us live longer and healthier lives; however, they can also produce harmful effects when not used properly. These open sessions teach you how to be your own advocate, learn safe medication practices as well as the risk of medication misuse. Sessions facilitated by OSU pharmacy students.
