A caregiver is required to be present for each participant. A single fee covers both the caregiver and the participant as they are creating one project between the two of them. Feel free to find inspiration in prints, photos, or books-whatever speaks to you! You just need one sheet of paper and you can pick the size that suits you best. Remember, these are just studies, so no pressure for them to be perfect. If you prefer to work with other materials, go for it. Don’t forget to pack a lunch or snack for the day. You may choose to draw, paint or use both medias. WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP | 50+ YRS Mindy Newman With over 30 years of teaching experience, Mindy uses exercises to teach technique, color and composition. She mentors ongoing participation, this is not taught as a beginner class; however, beginners are welcome to join this relaxed instruction and participants may work on their own project. Participants register for each month. Supplies and materials are on your own. A supply list is included as an attachment with the emailed receipt. Participants may choose to get colored watercolor prints for a $5 fee paid directly to the instructor. January: Music becomes Visual 1/7 - Paint a Rock and Roll Song in a Pop Art Style: It can be a portrait of a musician, a musical instrument or an illustration from lyrics. 1/14 - Paint a Jazz Piece: You can paint this in a modern art movement NY style, such as Mondrian and Broadway Boogie Woogie. 1/21 - Paint a Musical Sound Track: Using a symbolic scene from your favorite movie like Gene Kelly dancing around a lamp post. 1/28 - Catch up day: Bring in the unfinished pieces to work on today. 551115 A 1-3 pm Tu 1/7-1/28 Senior Center Building 1, Room 105 $40 R | $48 NR O 4 sessions February: Watercolor Portraits 2/4 - Paint a US Comic: Such as Charlie Chaplin, Mark Twain or one from your lifetime. Tracing is allowed. 2/11 - Paint a Family Member: You can paint them at any age, living or dead. Bring your own photos. 2/18 - Paint a Self-portrait: Your age can be ignored or you can record yourself in the present.
