INTERMEDIATE BALLROOM AND TECHNIQUE 18+ YRS Emily Mertens The Intermediate Ballroom and Technique class covers more advanced steps in the basic social dances. Classes are taught at a faster pass and in greater detail. Participants should be familiar with the basics of these three social dances or should have taken one Beginner’s Ballroom. The class focuses on learning more steps, as well as how to lead and follow them with a variety of partners. Other techniques include an introduction to Cuban motion and footwork. You can register as an individual or as a couple, as partners can be provided and all ages are welcome! Register only one person per couple and note the name of your dance partner when registering. Individuals should sign up at least one-two weeks in advance to allow time for a partner to be provided. Please see the photo samples on our registration website and a listing of the Bob Ross paintings below; paintings are created in the style of Bob Ross. All skill levels welcome, including those who have never painted before. Sam surprises many with the amount of talent she is able to wriggle out of people; come ready for tons of fun! We now offer two ceramics options. Section A is for beginners or those looking for more guidance and instruction. Section B is for those with past pottery wheel experience that want to hone their craft during studio time with no instruction provided. Section A registrants receive instruction on the wheel throwing process through targeted demonstrations, as well as individual guidance throughout. Clay and limited glaze options provided. Bring plastic shopping bags for clay storage. Apron recommended. Tools available but bring your own if you have them. Work at your own pace and skill level. No paint along with the instructor as in traditional art classes. Each artist selects their own photographic reference to work from; a subject with meaning and specific interest to them. There are positive critiques and painting demonstrations throughout the six-week class. Kevin assists in offering encouragement while exploring composition, painting techniques, color mixing and more. Some experience is recommended, but all levels are welcome. Vivian presents various subject matter, different surface usage and details about color properties in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. Demonstration is included along with insightful group critique. All levels. Experienced pastelists are encouraged to grow in their creativity.
