Winter 2025

As we stand on the cusp of an exciting new chapter with the opening of the Bob Crane Community Center, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the rich history of the Upper Arlington Senior Center. Nestled within three modular buildings originally designed as “temporary structures” for Tremont Elementary School in 1958, the Senior Center has transformed into a beloved hub for the Upper Arlington community. Celebrating Our History: The Upper Arlington Senior Center

Over the past 30 years, the Upper Arlington Senior Center has blossomed into a dynamic space where participants can engage in a wide array of programs. From art and history to technology, games, fitness, and wellness, there’s something for everyone. The memories made here—laughter shared, friendships forged, skills learned—will always hold a special place in hearts around Upper Arlington.

In 1978, the City moved its Senior Center operations into one of these buildings, and by 1985, all three structures were buzzing with activity. For just $1 a year, the City rented the space from Upper Arlington Schools, nurturing a vibrant environment that would become a second home for many. The property was purchased from Upper Arlington Schools in 1991.
