The children and seniors spend their lunch hour eating together and participating in various activities and programs. A TASTE OF FRANCE SERIES 50+ YRS Josie Gonot Join Miss Josie Gonot, a Taste of France, for these authentic degustation, or tastings. A TASTE OF FRENCH CHEESE There are over 400 kinds of cheese produced in France. Many are “ Triple-Crème ” the legal name for a French cheese more than 75% butterfat. Our creamy tasting tour may stop in La Brie, the famous village of Roquefort, the mountainous regions of La Chèvre and the historic Normandy town of Camembert. For each cheese, guests receive an information sheet to keep. It contains buying tips, serving ideas and suggested wine combinations. 551566 A 1:30-3 pm Tu 1/23 Senior Center Bldg 2, Rm 204 $14 A TASTE OF FRENCH CHOCOLATE Guests sample three-four different grades of a famous French brand of chocolate, Valrohna . Samples may range from the sweet milk chocolate “ Jivara ” to the very dark and bitter “ Guanaja ” at 70% cacao. All guests receive a Chocolate Trivia handout that you can use later to quiz your friends regarding famous American standards like Snickers and Baby Ruth. Since chocolate has been long touted as an inspiration for love, the program ends with the reading of some actual love letters written by famous French authors and artists. Ooo-La-La! C’est L’amour! 551567 A 1:30-3 pm Tu 2/13 Senior Center Bldg 2, Rm 204 $14 A TASTE OF FRENCH PÂTÉ Guests sample traditional pâtés, or savory spreads, some made in the local area. Contrary to popular belief, most of these small-batch potted spreads are not expensive. They are perfect for summer picnics and car trips. Samples may include a Smoked Salmon Pâté and a coarse Mushroom Pâté de Campagne both made by The Three Little Pigs Kitchen. And won’t you feel chic and sassy as the only one at the cocktail party who can calmly explain the difference between the pâté and the terrine? 551568 A 1:30-3 pm Tu 3/19 Senior Center Bldg 2, Rm 204 $14 ARMCHAIR TRAVEL OHIO | 50+ YRS David Holtzapple Short of going somewhere yourself, a presentation is still one of the best ways to connect travelers with destinations and this series focuses on Ohio.
