MONDAY MORNING DRAWING | 50+ YRS Mindy Newman

Mindy provides individual guidance, discussion and demonstrations. This is not taught as a beginner class; however, beginners are welcome to join this relaxed instruction. Many of our drawings are exercises. We look to modern and abstract artists to direct creative minds. Participants register for each month and supplies and materials are on their own. A supply list is included as an attachment with your emailed receipt.

STAINED & MOSAIC GLASS STUDIO | 50+ YRS Volunteer Led Create your own sun catchers, small and large panels, glass mosaics, stepping stone projects and more in this friendly, open studio format. There is no instructor and each member works independently on their projects. The completion of a beginning stained glass class or equivalent prior experience is strongly recommended. A large assortment of equipment and supplies are available for use. Some items are purchased individually by the participant. Waiver forms must be completed prior to attending. 551120 A 9 am-Noon Tu Ongoing 12:30-3:30 pm F Ongoing Senior Center Bldg 1, Rm 105 $10 2/26 - Triptych Related Color: Using Fine Black Sharpers or other various width markers and colored pencils together along with geometric shapes, we make a three-panel work. 551112 B 10:30 am-12:30 pm M 2/5-2/26 (skip 2/19) Senior Center Bldg 1, Rm 105 $30 O 3 sessions JANUARY: WILDLIFE PORTRAITS 1/8 - Bunny Rabbits: Work with colored pencil on earth-tone paper, to enjoy the art of shading fur with hatch drawing, with the skill of the beginner. We find inspiration from various illustrations of children’s books. 1/22 - Red Foxes: Using pen and pencil 2B on white paper, with a jazzy little accent color to let them know this is a red fox. Bring a fox you want to try. 1/29 - Owls: Smudge with your graphite pencil the drawing of those wise old owls and/or young ones. Discover how the eraser makes a great way to add highlights. 551112 A 10:30 am-12:30 pm M 1/8-1/29 (skip 1/15) Senior Center Bldg 1, Rm 105 $30 O 3 sessions FEBRUARY: IMAGES OF LOVE 2/5 - Roses: Lovely petals in a colorful floral of roses, are a pleasure to blend in polished colors on dark-colored paper. Practice with the art burnishing of the layering, directional line and scaling to the edge of the paper. 2/12 - Chocolates: We try to draw a realistic piece of candy with the use of colored pencils. It could be a single piece from a box of chocolate, a slice of chocolate cake, a cupcake or a chocolate-covered- strawberry.

MARCH: MARCH SPRINGS FORTH 3/4 - Crocus: Early spring is brought forth by this lovely flower. From the photos we find on the web to our own, let us begin our class with some purple and white on blue pastel paper (it’s fine if you opt to use other colors). 3/11 - Daffodils: Each year they reappear on schedule and in abundance. Yellows are the colors of the sun and the light of spring is upon us. Bring some colored paper and colored pencils. 3/18 - Violets: We can enjoy this old fashion flower with a small intimate still life of them on a table. Maybe an overlapping teacup or a yellow canary may stand behind the bouquet. Overlapping can make a composition complete. 3/25 - Goldfish: How about a fabulous fish? I can imagine the orange and light shades of off-white against a brilliant blue paper. Or a kitten playing with him in a fishbowl? Choose your

WOODCARVERS | 50+ YRS Volunteer Led

Imagine what you can do with your own two hands, some wood and a knife. Try your skills by joining our experienced carvers. Newcomers are welcome and encouraged to carve with the group. Established carvers bring projects to share and work on together. To participate, register and pay the season fee in Bldg 3 prior to attending open workshop studio. Materials & Tools
