FAMILY AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE | 5-16 YRS & ADULT(S) The Columbus Speech & Hearing Center This Family ASL class provides opportunities for families to have fun learning ASL together. Classes include instructions and hands on group activities. If you have Deaf family members, a family member with communication issues or you just want to learn ASL as a family, this class is for you. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult, but all family members are welcome. THE PLAY SPOT | 15 MOS–5 YRS Led by a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, this fun, play-based class boosts motor skills, language, and social development. Each week, kids explore sensory bins, create crafts, enjoy music and movement, listen to stories, and tackle obstacle courses, all through engaging themes. Campers dive into sensory-rich activities that engage all five senses! From active, gross motor play outdoors with hikes and scavenger hunts that explore textures, sounds, and scents to experiments that mix curiosity and creativity. Campers craft projects and create their very own sensory kits filled with slime, playdough, and mini sensory bins that boost fine motor skills and spark their imaginations while learning about the calming powers these activities can have. We also guide campers through engaging social-emotional activities to strengthen their self-regulation skills and gain valuable tools to better understand themselves and others. Our camp brings an exciting blend of sensory exploration, self-regulation, and hands-on fun with a new, whimsical summer. Students should dress for mess and wear comfortable shoes to run and play in.
