Greetings, In April, the Bob Crane Community Center will celebrate its first year of operation! Over the past year, it has been inspiring to see the Upper Arlington community come together to enjoy a wide range of amenities and programs designed for all ages. The response has been tremendous, with membership surpassing 12,000 in 2025—far exceeding initial projections—and an average of 1,200 guests visiting the facility each day. Many older adults transitioned to the new Community Center, resulting in a 128% increase in memberships compared to the former Senior Center. Over the year, staff introduced more than 200 new programs and supported nearly 350 private rentals. This level of utilization reflects the intentional design of the facility and the thoughtful incorporation of community feedback throughout the planning process. The building’s design and impact have recently been recognized by several professional organizations, highlighting the Bob Crane Community Center as a destination in Upper Arlington: • Columbus Business First - Building Columbus Awards Best Neighborhood Impact • Columbus Landmarks - James B. Recchie Design Award • Ohio Parks & Recreation Association – First Place Construction over $10M • Ohio City/County Management Association - Placemaking In addition to the accolades received by the Bob Crane Community Center, I was honored to be recognized by the Ohio Parks & Recreation Association as Professional of the Year. This achievement was made possible by the dedication of our staff and the continued support of our residents. Beyond the numbers and awards, the Bob Crane Community Center has become a place where

wellness, connection, and community truly come together—and we hope you’ll come explore everything this award-winning facility has to offer!
