Adult Group Lessons Varying levels of Adult Group Lessons are offered. These lessons are taught by Cyndee Wagner and Jon Gurian, who have 46 combined years of teaching experience! Multi-Generational BEGINNING TENNIS: LEVEL 1 | 16+ YRS Cyndee Wagner & Jon Gurian The format of this class is all instruction and geared to absolute beginners or players who need a refresher to return to the game. The focus is on proper grips, footwork, and basic stroke mechanics. The forehand, backhand, serve, volley, lob and overhead are covered, as well as rules, scoring and playing positions for singles and doubles. Rain dates scheduled July 11 and August 29 at the same session time; all other rain dates arranged by instructor. Players should be able to serve and play points. Half the class is spent on drills with a focus on improving stroke production and mechanics and half the class is reserved for play time. CONTINUING TENNIS: LEVEL 2 | 16+ YRS Cyndee Wagner & Jon Gurian The class format provides instruction, drills and playing time. You must be able to rally back and forth before enrolling. A review of the fundamentals provides a basis for progression to more advanced play. Take part in drills and simulated play activities that teach court mobility, consistency and control. Rain dates scheduled July 7 and August 25; all other rain dates arranged by instructor. Advanced drills, designed to enhance shot selection, depth and placement, are paired with instruction on tactics and strategies. Game time is provided to reinforce and practice new skills.
