You may register for day trips after seasonal registration begins. All transportation provided via the City’s comfortable 14-passenger shuttle bus. See page 57 for Trip Challenge Level descriptions.

LAVENDER FARM & YELLOW SPRINGS SHOPPING DAY TRIP | 50+ YRS Recreation Staff Join us on this day trip to a lavender farm and to downtown Yellow Springs. We start our trip at Sunset Ridge Lavender Farm during peak lavender bloom season to pick our own lavender bunches and browse the gift shop full of lavender goods. With bunches in hand, we head on to downtown Yellow Springs, a small town known for its vibrance, cultural diversity and artistic presence. We enjoy lunch together before we spend several hours of free time exploring the various eclectic shops and galleries in the downtown area. After shopping ‘til we drop, we head to Young’s Dairy for an ice cream cone before heading back home. Registration includes lavender u-pick bundle and transportation to and from the Senior Center in our 14-passenger shuttle bus. Lunch, ice cream and gift shopping on your own. Challenge level 3. 552901 A 9 am-5:30 pm Th 6/13 Senior Center Bldg 2, Lobby $40 due by 6/6 SEE THE SHOE: OHIO STATE FOOTBALL STADIUM TOUR | 50+ YRS Recreation Staff Go behind the scenes at the Ohio Stadium on a guided tour to explore “the Horseshoe” in greater depth than a typical fan. Highlights include visiting the Yassenoff Recruit Center, the suites on the Huntington Club Level, one of the nation’s largest collegiate press boxes, the $1.5 million Steinbrenner Band Center, home to the “Best Damn Band in the Land.” Additionally, enjoy walking the same sidelines where Woody once roamed, Archie made history and where the Buckeyes have battled since 1922. After the tour, enjoy time to grab lunch at either the Varsity Club or Panera Bread and browse the vast collection of Ohio State apparel, decor and accessories next door at College Traditions. Lunch and shopping on your own. Registration includes tour and transportation to and from the Senior Center in our 14-passenger shuttle bus. Challenge level 3. Gather with new friends to enjoy a meal out on the town. You may register to ride our 14-passenger bus from the Senior Center or there are a limited number of spots for those who would like to drive on their own at the same price. Bring a payment method to purchase all meals and beverages. Attendees order at the restaurant; no pre-ordering required. End time varies. Pre-register at least one week prior. Passenger bus riders meet at the Senior Center in Building 2. Self-drivers receive the restaurant address in an emailed PDF receipt. Challenge Level 1. May: Cafe Istanbul in Dublin 555967 D Pass. Bus Rider 11 am-3 pm W 8/14 555967 F1 Self-Driver 11:30 am-2:30 pm W 8/14 $5 per person for all sections KELTON HOUSE & OHIO SUPREME COURT DAY Come with us to Columbus’s own Kelton House as we are transported back to the 19th Century on a tour with Sophia Kelton of the home she and her husband built in 1852. Sophia shares her family’s secret life as conductors on the Underground Railroad and may introduce us to a runaway making her way to freedom in Canada. Following the tour, we enjoy lunch together before heading on to a private docent tour of the Ohio Supreme Court in all of it’s splendor. The Supreme Court of Ohio is housed in a magnificently designed building richly appointed in marble, brass and walnut, with an ornate interior of numerous paintings, murals and mosaics. This is one of the finest national examples of Art Deco in a public space! Registration includes both tours and transportation to and from the Senior Center in our 14-passenger shuttle bus.
