SELF DEFENSE WITH UA POLICE | 16+ YRS UA Police Division Preparation and knowledge are crucial if you ever find yourself in a threatening or dangerous situation. This in depth class combines informative discussions of safety issues, comprehensive instruction on awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and hands-on self-defense instruction by trained police officers. Half of the class is in lecture format and half includes hands-on practice. Learning a second language offers countless benefits, including improved memory, concentration, cultural understanding and decreased risk for dementia. Learn basic French, pronunciation and listening, and develop a better understanding of French culture. We cover daily life, expressing who you are, food, restaurants, markets, asking questions and numbers. The class is taught mostly in French with lots of visual aids and the occasional English, but don’t be intimidated. The atmosphere is relaxed and interactive. Bring a notebook and the required text, Barrons’ Learn French the Fast and Fun Way, (ISBN 0764176897).
