MONDAY MORNING DRAWING | 50+ YRS Mindy Newman

Mindy provides individual guidance, discussion and demonstrations. This is not taught as a beginner class; however, beginners are welcome to join this relaxed instruction. Many of our drawings are exercises. Participants register for each month and supplies and materials are on their own. A supply list is included as an attachment with your emailed receipt.

SEPTEMBER 9/11 - Drawing Koi Under Water: How to draw water with fish and overlapping planes of light and hard edge vs. soft edge. 9/18 - Mushrooms & Tree Roots: Shared line connecting mushrooms and create spatial relationship. 9/25 - Chipmunk Circus: Dots and dashes round out their little tummies with a highlight of white colored pencil on the earth-toned papers. 553112 A 10:30 am-12:30 pm M 9/11-9/25 Senior Center Bldg 1, Rm 105 $30 O 3 sessions OCTOBER 10/2 - Analogous & Opposite Colored Sunflowers: Colored pencils in yellows and oranges are countered by their opposites of blues and purples. Van Gogh’s sunflowers mentor. 10/9 - Hanging Grapes: Draw a still life-size, botanical illustration. 10/16 - Autumn Leaves: A series of miniature pen or pencil studies help us identify the leaves that go with the name of the tree. 10/23 - Fall Semi-Abstracts: Using an autumn theme that inspires, created with various textures. 10/30 - Catch up Day : Bring unfinished drawings to class to complete. 553112 B 10:30 am-12:30 pm M 10/2-10/30 Senior Center Bldg 1, Rm 105 $50 O 5 sessions STAINED & MOSAIC GLASS STUDIO | 50+ YRS Independently Led Create your own sun catchers, small and large panels, glass mosaics, stepping stone projects and more in this friendly open studio format. There is no instructor and each member works independently on their projects. The completion of a beginning stained glass class or equivalent prior experience is strongly recommended. A large assortment of equipment and supplies are available for use. NOVEMBER 11/6 - Beautiful Stones: We explore “negative shape.” Subtle shifts of grays are layered with the hatch and smudge. 11/13 - Gobble, Gobble: Draw something you are thankful for on the Thanksgiving table. 11/20 - Frost & Snow: Forest branches with a bird with colored pencil. 11/27 - Catch up Day: Bring unfinished drawings to class to complete. 553112 C 10:30 am-12:30 pm M 11/6-11/27 Senior Center Bldg 1, Rm 105 $40 O 4 sessions DECEMBER 12/4 - Holly Leaves: Use pens and various technical drawing techniques along with accent colors (elves, candles). 12/11 - Angels: Fabric folds for their robes, light and shadow. Some angels have colors. Gabriel is blue and white. 12/18 - Poinsettia: The Christmas flower is complex with very soft and tender leaves.
