Multi-Generational DIY SUCCULENT PUMPKINS | 10+ YRS Ashleigh Lemon, Lemon Garden Designs Learn how to create a beautiful, long-lasting succulent pumpkin. Your experience includes a real pumpkin, a variety of succulents, preserved moss, dried flower accents and step by-step instruction. We discuss best practices for succulent care and maintenance: soil, sun requirements, watering, and propagation for healthy plants. Please note, these pumpkins are not carved so that your centerpiece can last for many months! Participants under 18 years of age should sign up with a parent/guardian; register one person per pumpkin centerpiece and note any additional attendees not creating their own arrangement at registration. In this class, learn intarsia (picture knitting), knitting a heel flap, picking up stitches for the gusset, Kitchener Stitch for the toe and duplicate stitching to complete your very own stocking with a Christmas tree on it. Knitting homework assigned between classes. Students must know how to do ribbing, stockinette stitch and working with double pointed needles. Students should bring US #6 and #8 straight or circular needles and US #8 double points. Supplies provided include all yarn (wool/mohair), embellishments, and pattern to knit a Christmas tree stocking. This is a great opportunity to use a pottery wheel and learn how to transform a piece of clay into a wonderful bowl, vase or plate after drawing their own design. Participants learn basic wedging, centering, pulling, and decorating. Projects are finished with a glaze. Sam leads students step-by-step through the techniques of Bob Ross to complete different 11”x14” canvas panel paintings each class. See schedule below for painting subjects. We use Bob Ross kid’s acrylic paint (not oil paint). All skill levels welcome, including those who have never painted before.
