Program Accomodations Adaptive programs are designed for individuals with disabilities. As we look to expand our adaptive program offerings, please feel free to share your thoughts and feedback with us. Likewise, if you or a family member would like to request adaptations or modifications to participate in programs we offer, please relay your request at parks@uaoh.net and we will do our best to accommodate your need. Activities are designed to promote independence, socialization, and engagement within the community in a safe and fun environment. Participants plan a schedule each quarter and events often occur on Sunday afternoons at locations around the Columbus area. All events are supervised by paid staff. Registration is available for either Full or Half Sessions to Residents and Non Residents of Upper Arlington. TRI-VILLAGE AKTION CLUB (ADAPTIVE & INCLUSIVE) | 18+ YRS Recreation Staff, Sponsored by Northwest Kiwanis Aktion Club is the largest service club for adults with disabilities, with more than 12,000 members worldwide. Club members are service-oriented people who enjoy working together within a group to make our communities better. Monthly meetings and year-round service projects are led and scheduled by members of the Aktion Club. Northwest Kiwanis is our local club sponsor with support from the Parks and Rec departments of both Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights. If you are looking for additional social opportunities and a way to use your talents to help others, this is the Club for you! Meetings are usually held the first Sunday and third Friday each month and alternate between Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights locations. No cost to join. This program is in the competition pool with lap lanes in place. Participants enter through the Natatorium vestibule on the south side of the High School. Changing rooms are available. We hold one lane for families to swim, but this program is primarily for lap swimmers.
